Watch Don Cheadle Masterfully Play Miles Davis In The First “Miles Ahead” Teaser

 

Don Cheadle fought long and hard to get his passion project, Miles Ahead, a film about jazz legend Miles Davis from inception to production and now the film is set to premiere Sunday (October 11) at the New York Film Festival.

In the first ever teaser, the Academy Award nominee, who acts as both director and the lead, is seen recording during his silent years when he withdrew from the public eye. The film also stars Emayatzy Corinealdi (Middle of Nowhere) as the legend’s wife Frances Taylor and Ewan McGregor, a reporter who helps Davis recover a stolen tape of his music.

Jada Pinkett-Smith has been a successful Hollywood actress FROM TIME.

From 1994’s Jason’s Lyric and A Low Down Dirty Shame, all the way to the 2004’s Collateral staring opposite Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx, Mrs. Smith has been holding her own, and doing it well.

On Tuesday night (October 6) Jada went strolling down memory lane and uploaded an old Set it Off cast photo to Instagram. The film, directed F. Gary Gray and written by Kate Lanier, debuted in theaters November 6, 1996 and earned $41 million against it $9 million budget.

Staring Smith, Vivica A. Fox, Queen Latifah and Kimberly Elise, who made her acting debut, the film follows four friends in L.A. who rob a bank, and while all four ladies did a phenomenal job, helping to make the film a classic, Jada revealed she actually didn’t want to play Stony; she had her heart set on another role.
